Impact & ESG Reporting
This page is for sustainability officers and marketing. Cirqle calculates the measurable savings from replacing single-use cups with the reusable cup system it tracks. The numbers come from reusable cups that were actually washed and used again. A cup that was poured once and never came back has not yet replaced a disposable cup.
Every time a tagged cup is scanned and washed instead of thrown away, the platform records a count you can show an auditor. That is the proof behind CSRD and other green reports. Quote the dates on the screen in the same sentence as the number. A festival weekend is not a full year.
Key metrics in plain numbers
Single-use cups avoided
The number of disposable paper or plastic cups that were not bought and not thrown in the bin. One finished wash counts as one disposable cup avoided. It is not the number of cups you own, and it is not the number you served.
CO₂e prevented
The carbon emissions saved. Each wash saves about 0.09 kg of CO₂e compared with making and throwing away one single-use cup.
The report also subtracts the carbon that was spent making the reusable cup in the first place (about 0.12 kg per cup, counted once). A brand-new fleet can show a negative number. That means the cups have not yet “paid back” the cost of making them. Do not hide a negative. Say that more washes will pay it back. Do not put a positive saving in a press release until this number is positive.
Waste diverted (kg)
The weight of bin waste that was avoided. Each reuse saves about 15 grams of plastic (0.015 kg). One thousand washes is about 15 kg of disposable cups that were never made.
Circularity score
The average number of times the reusable cups in this fleet have been washed and used again. The cups themselves are built for 100+ uses. Cirqle records each completed wash. A mature fleet sitting far below that usually means cups are being lost, retired early, or not passing the clean gate, so the washes are not being recorded. A brand-new event will look low because the cups have only been out once. Say how old the fleet is next to the number.
Exporting reports
- Open ESG Impact. Pick this event, or this month. Do not export a weekend as if it were the whole year.
- Read the four numbers above. If carbon is negative, leave it in the pack and add one sentence about payback.
- Click Download CSRD Report (CSV). You get a spreadsheet. The file name looks like
cirqle-csrd-esg-followed by the date. Attach that file to the annual sustainability filing. Do not retype the numbers into a slide and then lose the file.
If a board pack must be a PDF, print the spreadsheet from your own computer. The audit file Cirqle gives you is the spreadsheet (CSV).
Only an administrator can change the calculation settings. A venue manager can view and download the report. They cannot edit the factors. See Organization and settings.
